NEWPHASE CHOIR
CHOIR ANNUAL REPORT FOR THE YEAR
Introduction:
All glory to God for His mercies and love towards His Children, who kept and sustained us through the Last year and wrought mighty works by His Spirit through us. We are grateful to God for how he has kept us as a team, what He is doing in us and through us, what He is set to do and for the Spiritual depths of intimacy he is set to take us to.
We present an overview of the year 2024 (HEAVEN ON EARTH).
Number of members: In the course of the year, our member capacity greatly increased by 15 members, but at the moment, out of the 15, 6 members are presently with us.
Spiritual growth: As a way of growing in depths of intimacy with God as a team, we introduced Bible study and prayers in our rehearsals. And this has helped our spiritual growth as a team.
Uniforms: Little by little, we began to introduce uniforms for the choir members, and in the new year, we hope to intensify our actions on this.
Punctuality, absenteeism and penalties: we imbibed an approach on setting penalties for coming late and missing services and rehearsals without seeking permission and this helped in reducing it.
Building an atmosphere of love: we understand that when people feel loved and appreciated, they tend to give more in service, and so our first approach to this was celebrating their special (birthdays), child naming and supporting them in one way or the other. We also encourage them on their not so good days by visiting them, praying for them and supporting their needs in our own capacity. In this New Year, by the grace of God, we hope to do more and foster a team where we indeed walk as a family in Love.
We thank God for the leadership of this commission for their love and support and we trust God for greater things this year 2024.
VISION
The NewPhase Family Choir exists to create an atmosphere for the congregation to worship God through music. We desire to lead the congregation into deeper worship, bringing God’s people to His throne through musical excellence, creativity, and passion. Above all, we desire for God to be glorified through everything we do as a worship team (Colossians 3:16-1; 1 Corinthian 10:31).
GOALS
- Spirit led song selection and worship leading.
- Openness to Spirit-led congregational participation during the service.
- Good musical skill in the leader and band
- Song selection that, while based in Scriptural principles, fits the age, culture and languages of the community
- Importance of first person language to God in songs (lyrics) and prayers.
QUALIFICATIONS
Committed Attender of The NewPhase Family Choir- The team member is to be a regular attender in worship and actively support the leadership and mission of the NewPhase Full Gospel Ministries.
Spiritual Growth – The team member is to be a mature Christian, knowing that everyone involved in the worship ministry is seen by the congregation as a leader.
- Colossians 1:9-10
- Colossians 2:6-7
- Ephesians 4:13-15
- Ephesians 4:22-24
- Romans 15:1-2
Talents and Skills – Although we recognize the importance of a pure heart, the musician and vocalists also need to have enough musical skill because we want to be the best that we can be in order to appropriately honor and worship God.
Family Support – It is important that our immediate family members are supportive and willing to accept the necessary time commitments for our Saturday evening rehearsal and Sunday early morning rehearsal (which is mandatory).
Able to Cooperate with the Team – Working and blending with others must be a major consideration.
EXPECTATIONS
Probationary Period – New team members are required to join the worship team for three (3) rehearsals before leading at a Sunday worship service in order to learn the style of music the team plays and, most importantly, build a relationship with the team members.
Personal Practice – Team members are expected to commit time to individual practice to prepare for group rehearsals and worship services, recognizing that this worship ministry requires a large time commitment and it is wasteful of the team’s time to be unprepared for rehearsal.
Worship Rehearsal – All team members are required to attend the weekly rehearsal and worship services, being punctual and faithful in their attendance. Rehearsals take place on Saturday evening at 4:00pm.
Communication – If a team member is unable to make it for a practice or Sunday morning worship service, they must give the worship team leader sufficient notice so that any necessary adjustments can be made or substitute can be found.
Personal Worship Time – We expect a personal relationship with Jesus Christ that is consistent and growing through prayer, Bible study, and fellowship with other believers. We seek to model the life of a growing believer.
