WHO IS MATTEW AGADA
Dr. Matthew Agada, a medical doctor by training, is the president and senior pastor of NewPhase Full Gospel Ministries. He is a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. Before his call to full gospel ministry, he worked as a senior medical officer at the NAF Hospital Kaduna and was also the CEO and medical director of his own private hospital, Rhema Hospital, which he sowed as a seed to the church to help the poor and the needy members of the church as he was entering full gospel ministry. As a missionary with the World Mission Agency, he served as the Regional Director, Central Africa, with headquarters in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo. Today he serves as President and Founding Pastor at New Phase Full Gospel Ministries, a.k.a., the “Mountain of Total Turnaround and Economic Empowerment,” headquartered in the Nigerian Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. Dr. Matthew Agada is married to Victoria and is blessed with four children: Havilah-Caleb, Deborah-Love, Jerry-King, and Elias-Delight.
INTRODUCTION
MY JOURNEY INTO THE MINISTRY OF THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST
As a student at the Word of Faith Bible Institute [WOFBI], August Special 1991 in Kaduna, my eyes opened, and I saw the reality of divine destiny in Jeremiah 29:11, 1:5, and Romans 8:29–30. I discovered that God had a particular plan for my life, but it might not be what I was doing then (medical practice). With fear, therefore, I cried to the Lord to show me His plan for my life, or else at His second coming, He would not ask me anything about it. Even if it were what I was doing then (as a medical officer), I wanted Him to confirm it so that I could confidently say that that was what God created me to do in life.
HOW IT ALL STARTED
THE THREE ENCOUNTERS
THE FIRST ENCOUNTER
On the 15th of August 1991, God visited me in my bedroom at about 2:00 a.m. He physically slapped me hard on my left thigh to wake me up from a very deep sleep and commanded me to open my Bible to chapter 58 of Isaiah. As I was reading at His command, I was robbing my left thigh where He slapped me because it was hurting me. He told me to note two verses in particular that revealed His plan for my life. Viz: 58:11 And the LORD shall guide thee continually, satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones; and thou shalt be like a watered garden and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not. 58:12 And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places; thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called the repairer of the breach, the restorer of paths to dwell in. For almost three years, I did not know what this meant, though I constantly reminded my Lord in prayer how confused I was as to what He wanted me to do with that revelation.
THE SECOND ENCOUNTER
Again, I had another visit from the Lord on May 16, 1994, in a public bus on my way from work. He said to me, “The economy of this world is changing hands already, and it’s changing very fast. Very soon, it will be the turn of the Kingdom of God. The power for wealth shall be given only to My elects who have been found faithful.” The new phase of the world economy will be that of the Kingdom of God. Anyone in the Kingdom and found faithful shall receive the power to get wealth, and I will distinguish him in the face of abject misery and want. “However, everyone outside the Kingdom or in the Kingdom but found unfaithful shall lose the power to get wealth, ‘for thou shall remember the Lord thy God, for it is He who giveth thee power to get wealth’, Deut. 8:18.”
THE THIRD ENCOUNTER
On November 24, 1999, while serving as a missionary with the WMA in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, I had a very strange dream. While I was sleeping that night, I saw in a dream that two beautiful birds landed from the air and started walking about under the tree where I was relaxing on a chair in the afternoon. In an attempt to catch them for my son, their feathers all went off their bodies, and they turned into small, round, and smooth stones. I picked up the smaller one, and to my great surprise, it turned into a squeezed piece of paper in my hand. When I gently opened it, I saw some writing on it that was too tiny for me to read. As I continued to strain my eyes to read the writings with eagerness, the paper suddenly enlarged in my hands miraculously, and I could now read the writings very clearly. This is what was written on it.
When I woke up on my bed, I could not believe it was not in the natural world. After praying and carefully analyzing these three encounters with the Lord, I came to a very clear understanding of the plan and purpose of God for my life here on earth.
MY ASIGNMENT
To proclaim God’s “Final Word to Finally Turn the World Around.” What is God’s final word that will finally turn the world around? “The new phase of the world economy shall be that of the Kingdom of God. Anyone in the Kingdom and found faithful shall receive the power to get wealth, and I will distinguish him in the face of abject misery and want. “However, everyone outside the Kingdom or in the Kingdom but found unfaithful shall lose the power to get wealth, ‘for thou shall remember the Lord thy God, for it is He who giveth thee power to get wealth’, Deut. 8:18.” In the process of proclaiming this final word of my Lord to the world, I am also to “raise up the foundations of many generations.” Hence, the Lord has given me the mandate to proclaim His Covenant of Wealth for a New World Economy, to create opportunities and atmospheres for the economic empowerment of His saints who are found faithful to turn around their destinies so they can “build the old waste places”. My goal, as an apostolic envoy, is to cry to the world to prepare against the economic mayhem coming upon the earth. This will be the greatest challenge the world has ever known, but it is going to bring economic revolution to the church. This is to confirm the prophecy of Haggai Chapter 2. “Before long, I will shake heaven and earth, land and sea. I will overthrow all the nations, and their treasures will be brought here, and the Temple will be filled with wealth. All the silver and gold in the world are mine. The new temple will be more splendid than the old one, and there I will give my people prosperity and peace. “The LORD Almighty has spoken” (Haggai 2:6–9, GNB). The tools for executing this mandate were delivered to me on the 11th of August 1995, when the Lord cut a covenant with me in Isaiah chapter 59 verse 21. As for me, this is my covenant with them (thee), saith the LORD; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed’s seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and forever (Isaiah 59:21). THE TOOLS THEREFORE ARE His Holy Spirit (the Anointing) and His Word.
